What is Train the Painter?

Train the Painter Course is an internationally recognised paint training programme which is accredited and approved by Lloyds Register.

This industrial painter training has been developed by industry experts in response to the strong demand for certification within the industrial coatings industry that now requires personnel working within the road, rail, renewables and oil and gas industries to obtain professional specified certificates.

The dynamic, effective and advanced train the painter (TTP) training covers most global industries where protective coatings are used such as marine, offshore, onshore petrochemical and construction sites and endorsed internationally by Lloyds Register, leading to enhanced morale of the Paint Applicator.

Train the Painter (TTP) offers three core modules that are essential for anyone looking to excel in the field of painting and surface preparation. These modules include:

1. Protective Coatings Applicator - This module focuses on the application of various protective coatings, ensuring that participants understand the techniques and materials required to effectively safeguard surfaces.

2. Abrasive Blast Cleaner - In this module, learners will gain hands-on experience with abrasive blasting techniques, which are crucial for preparing surfaces prior to painting and for achieving a high-quality finish.

3. Spray Painter - This module covers the skills necessary for spray painting, including the proper use of equipment and techniques to ensure optimal application and results.

Together, these modules provide a comprehensive training experience designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers in painting and surface preparation.

For individuals who choose to pursue a TTP career pathway at Dangle, we offer an invaluable opportunity to enhance students' skills and expertise through further painter training. Our programs are designed to guide all students into specialised areas of industrial painting, with a strong focus on critical segments: Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Coating Supervision and Marine Environment Painting.

4. Thin Fim Intumescent (PFP) Applicator - is a specialised course designed for applying fire protection materials. This comprehensive course covers crucial topics and techniques, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively and safely apply thin film intumescent coatings that enhance fire resistance.

5. Coating Supervisor - this advanced Train the Painter course aims to elevate students who already possess a TTP Gold card into a painting supervision position, providing formal certification that is recognised globally.

6. Marine Environment Applicator - is a comprehensive training course offered by Train the Painter, designed specifically for professionals working with vessels, oil rigs, and various offshore infrastructures.

By immersing students in these targeted fields, we aim to equip them with the knowledge and practical experience necessary to excel in their chosen careers, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the demands of the industry.
