Specialist design and manufacturing company, Power Curve ApS, has forged a strategic partnership with Dangle Rope Access, to help them deliver specialist installation services of wind turbine performance upgrades across the UK's wind farm sector.
The partnership will combine Power Curve ApS world class wind turbine performance upgrades and testing services with Dangle's range of flexible, high-quality and rapidly deployed access solutions.
Power Curve ApS has developed designed and tested services delivered by qualified personnel, which includes on the business side, Liftra bringing the necessary experience as a leading service provider for the global wind energy industry, and SanderTech A/S (now SP Moulding) brought 80 years of experience within plastics moulding, including subcontracting to major wind industry OEMs. Then t he scientific side of their business, ensuring that the project would build on the very latest know-how and research, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Wind Department) brought their world-leading work in the field of aerodynamics..
Power Curve and Dangle will now begin targeting sites of already installed wind Infrastructure such as onshore wind farm locations, right across the UK.
The agreement concept which is designed and manufactured by Power Curve ApS, the Danish company is a world leader in designing and building wind turbine blade upgrades to increase performance and reduce drag through small changes, has already delivered over 700 similar projects worldwide and with Dangle onboard in the UK to support customer installations and client satisfaction, will continue their market domination.
Jesper K. Nielsen, CSO at Power Curve ApS said: “To be successful, our solutions must utilise the very latest technical knowledge. We believe this leads to the highest returns for our customers and to more efficient green energy for our society. It is important to us to be at the forefront of technological advances and innovation in the field of blade aerodynamics, we see Dangle playing an important role in that mission.”
Simon Dunn, Managing Director of Dangle Rope Access, said: “The situation around the transition to further green energy is the largest demand my generation has had to face. The EU's energy plan means it will be necessary to produce 265GW of total wind power by 2030 and this partnership can help in doing its bit in making that happen, utilising technology that already exists today. ”
Dangle, through its rope access service, can now deliver flexible onsite vortex generator installation, gurney flaps and other powerful aerodynamic upgrades to wind turbine blades using the very latest science and modelling to increase annual energy performance (AEP) to wind farm owners and operators across the UK.
Power Curve is the only global supplier of vortex generators that has design capabilities to regain turbine production lost to blade surface roughness. Striving for better solutions in everything they do. Improving wind turbine power performance is meaningful and a win-win proposition as all parties involved stand to gain, including the environment and humanity.
